Aleksa Martinović

Aleksa Martinović is a trainee attorney at Komnenić & Partners. He has been building his legal career by combining academic engagement with hands-on professional experience across Montenegro and the broader region. His work at the firm involves drafting and analysing legal documents, representing clients before courts and institutions, and participating in negotiations and dispute resolution — work that is sharpening both his analytical precision and client-facing communication skills.

He developed his practical foundation through internships at the Higher Criminal Court in Belgrade, where he attended trials and reviewed case files; at the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, where he gained exposure to public administration and data protection frameworks; and at the law firm Stojković Advokati, where he carried out legal research, attended court hearings, and communicated with clients in a commercial law environment.

Aleksa completed his undergraduate law degree at the Faculty of Law of Union University in Belgrade, where he took part in legal clinics on transitional justice, intellectual property, and pro bono family law, alongside a legal drafting course and an Erasmus negotiation course in Germany. He has completed a master’s in Maritime Law and Shipping Business at Frederick University in Limassol, Cyprus, and is finalising a master’s in International Law at the University of Montenegro.

He has also been active on the conference circuit, presenting at the KIMC 2025 conference in Kotor on MARPOL 73/78 and its application in Montenegrin legislation, and delivering a paper at the Adriatic Maritime Law Conference VII in Izola, Slovenia, on the legal and regulatory challenges of decarbonisation through alternative fuels.

Aleksa is a native speaker of Montenegrin, proficient in English at C2 level, with a working knowledge of German. He also volunteers with the Red Cross, supporting children without parental care.
