Desanka Kotlaja

Desanka Kotlaja is a Senior Associate at Komnenic & Partners Law Office. She obtained her BA degree at the Faculty of Law Podgorica – University of Montenegro. She also received her law degree specialising in International Law, at the University of Montenegro.

Desanka has spent the first semester of 3rd year at the Europa Institute of the University of Saarland in Germany, studying European and International Law.

Before working at Komnenic & Partners as a trainee attorney and becoming an attorney, she was a coordinator, seminars participant and volunteer in NGOs and student organisations engaging in educational work and working with different minorities. In addition, she has completed an internship at the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro and was a member of the University of Montenegro Team for Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. She has won first place with her team in the Italian Association for Arbitrations and Arbitral Chamber of Milan’s pre-moot competition in commercial arbitration. Desanka has received a Diploma awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Law Podgorica for this achievement.

She is fully proficient in English, has good Italian knowledge and has a beginner’s level in Spanish and German. She assists clients with legal representation, drafting legal acts and agreements, managing case files, and researching.
